What Others Say!

  • L. Novacek, The Hospitality Project

I truly do appreciate the instructor and his enthusiasm. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to have to be "up" and enthusastic for such a long training especially when there are so many people who are attending who are non-responsive or aren't on camera. His level of expertise and knowledge of this topic is wonderful. I think that this training has been a good investment of my time (and my agency's money).

  • Annonymous

Although the training was done online via Zoom, it was very interactive and engaging.  The presenter did an amazing job of keeping the pace of the training and having everyone involved, his definition/explanations of the techniques we learned was clear and helpful.  I really enjoyed the breakout rooms/sessions, it was nice to be able to still interact with each other online.

  • S. Smuda, Washoe TANF

I was instantly invigorated.  I remembered how much I like this training.  Sad to say I've not really applied it but I will now!  What I liked best was 1.  Remember how much I really like this tool.  And 2.  Extremely pleasantly surprised we got to break out in groups.

  • S. Weatherall, Grand Ronde Headstart

Even though I get nervous I really liked the interactive element and how it seemed very conversational, not just someone preaching to us and expecting us to just retain a bunch of information and acronyms. I also liked the opportunity to practice with real things that are going on in our own lives

  • Annonymous

Our facilitator was great and friendly. It created a more casual approach for our participation as well to learn the information. The layout of both days was easy, and it was great to not just have a presentation/and or read off our handouts.

  • J. Roberts, Eckerd

The fact that the instructor obviously had applied these skills in real world settings made the training more meaningful.

I liked his use of the breakout rooms and found it definitely kept me more engaged.

  • Annonymous

I really enjoyed the presenter modeling before sending us into activity. The group sessions and facilitators' pace and information was all

  • A. Waller, Eckerd

The workshop was very informative and helpful, I enjoyed the interaction with other professionals as well as the information.  It will definitely help with effectively doing my job as well as everyday interactions.

  • I. Ford, Kodiak Healthcare

The presenter was very knowledgeable on the subject and was great at encouraging people to engage with the activities.

  • Annonymous

I enjoyed that you had a presenter who was very informative, yet made the sessions fun.  He would give us good feedback on how to work with our clients.  He used a lot of examples that were easy to understand and relate to.

  • Annonymous

The ASK TELL ASK and how the client question can be answered without them feeling offended especially at the time  I think the instructor did a great job! I believe improvement is needed at our end!

Systems for Engaging Individuals, Resources & Family In Community

MAY 6, 7 & 8, 2025

Get 4th FREE for Every 3 Registered!

Forward-thinking organizations understand the importance of creating systems that are both replicable and sustainable, ensuring that training benefits are retained and skills are continually enhanced. Follow these simple steps to achieve this.

The Success Systems Approach

  • Build Existing In-house Capacity: Establish systems for ongoing training and staff development to reduce dependence on external trainers.
  • Seamlessly Adapt Existing Practice: Enhance what you are already doing instead of starting from scratch.
  • Institute Sustainable Continuous Support: Provide ongoing support to maximize the return on your training investments.

Sounds simple enough, and it is! CM Days delivers the system nuts and bolts to help you adapt what you are already doing - NOT start from scratch!

How The System Works

Delivering services to clients requires efficient case management that is achieved by empowering the individual receiving services. Effective empowerment comes from being "assistive" and collaboratively teaching and guiding. Our system prioritizes three success keys to achieve that end.

  1. Effective Engagement of Individual clients being served: Equipping frontline professionals with proven skills to ensure effective client "contact moments". Use of Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills and Evidence-based approaches are emphasized for achieving durable client outcomes.

  2. Skilled Connection to and Coordination of Resources: Teaching collaborative strategies for connecting clients to services they need - identifying, engaging, and coordinating resources for success. Use of "warm hand-offs" to ensure durable client engagement.

  3. Family Engagement in Community: Employ proven Family Group Decision-Making, Teaming, and Conferencing methods to engage and leverage families the client values.

How Event Is Organized

It is 3-Days focused on how to institute a sustainable in-house collaborative case management system. Think of it as an evidence-based "3-legged stool" approach emphasizing collaboration, and can be replicated.

  • Day-1: Skills for engaging the Individual one on one.
  • Day-2: Learn to identify, engage, and coordinate available Resources.
  • Day-3: Proven methods for effective Family engagement.

Learning Objectives & Intended Outcomes

  1. Effective Client Engagement:
o Equip frontline professionals with proven skills for impactful client interactions.
o Explore Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques to achieve lasting client outcomes.
  2. Enhanced Skill Acquisition and Retention:
o Participants will acquire practical skills in case management and care coordination.
o Retention of these skills will be emphasized through evidence-based approaches, breakout sessions and emphasis on continuous learning.
  3. Sustainable System Implementation:
o Understand how to implement a replicable and sustainable case management system.
o Reduce reliance on external trainers and programs by adopting the system and adapt current practices.
  4. Resource Coordination Mastery:
o Learn collaborative strategies to identify, engage, and coordinate essential resources.
o Understand the value of “warm hand-offs” to ensure optimal resource utilization.
  5. Family Involvement Strategies:
o Discover methods for engaging and leveraging family support.
o Explore Family Group Decision-Making, Teaming, and Conferencing.
  6. Evidence-Based Approach:
o The 3-day program emphasizes the evidence-based “3-legged stool” approach of reinforced learning and practice.
o Collaboration is at the core, ensuring sustainable in-house case management practices.

By participating in this series, attendees will gain practical skills, enhance their understanding of case management, and contribute to sustainable organizational success. 🌟

Woman reaching out for help, on a stone with water in the back

Short-term solutions compound issues, increase caseloads, run up expenses, and ultimately harms everyone in the process - much like applying a band-aid over a gaping bullet wound!

But, it doesn't have to be this way. There's a better solution which remind us to first remove the bullet and then stop the bleeding through the use of approaches that are skillfully implemented.

Evidence-Based "PATHWAYS" Changed This Organization's Future

After one of our community action partnerships attended  EB "PATHWAYS", the executive teams' eyes were opened to the future of her organization.

The CEO, “dragged” out of retirement to lead the company, saw how like many well meaning agencies, her staff seemed to get bogged down, and not getting to the source of the problems.

Attending the evidence-based "PATHWAYS" program helped her redirect her staff's passionate motivations with effective practices.

"Our job is NOT to take over people’s lives in the name of "helping" them. It is to partner with clients in an assistive way. Its actually less work per client, and more time to do even more!"

With this newfound triggered revelation, there's now less staff stress and more sustained client success. Practitioners now have a blueprint for their role and teaching methods.

Leadership at the organization now spends time instituting approaches taught by the evidence-based conference.

But the transformational experience of the team is not exclusive to them. You too can share in the benefit.

About EB "PATHWAYS" — Online Digital Summit For Practitioners

  • Attack The Cause, Not The Symptoms

Client caseloads will increase and become more complex with challenging "hard-to-serve" conditions compounding work being done. Frequently well-meaning practitioners and their agencies apply unproven methods to expeditiously move their clients along.

Unfortunately, with that kind of support clients will NOT be able to succeed on their own during 99.9% of the time they are away from the practitioner. Consequently, they will return with bigger more entrenched conditions. The practitioner must serve their current client load and the returning ones!

Short-term solutions compound issues, increase caseloads, run up expenses, and ultimately harms everyone in the process - much like applying a band-aid over a gaping bullet wound!

But, it doesn't have to be this way. There's a better solution which reminds us to first remove the bullet and then stop the bleeding through the use of approaches that are skillfully implemented.

  • Learning Goals & Objectives

    Learning Goals & Objectives

    Participants in the program will receive formal education in how to help their clients regain or strengthen their ability to perform critical life functions necessary to thrive in any life domain and ultimately be skillful in the application of evidence based and strength centered approaches. Program participants are in a position to;

    • Learn how to plan for continued personal and professional development following formal education. Going beyond just formal degrees and licenses, and learn what to do to insure continued professional development.
    • Get a clearer more advanced understanding of “Evidence based” practice, programs, and interventions - beyond the typical introductory and moderate definitions. Learn what kinds there are, their meaning, what they are for, why they are important, how they work and fit, and how you might apply them, etc.
    • Distinguish between being evidence-based and being intuitive. Learn to move toward recognizing and making use of that which is intuitive in practice.
    • Learn to test and discover the value of intuitive practice in determining when and how to use it as practice-based evidence. Learn to make use of intuition one possesses and move those activities toward becoming evidence-based
    • Evaluate and rate own practice for fidelity and efficacy
Develop a plan to improve own practice using the results of a self-evaluation. Make use of the plan developed to improve practice.
    • Learn the various EBP's and their uses in all practice. Learn which are specific to your domain, and work to specialize in the use of one or more for your domain
    • Gain fundamental working knowledge of 2 or more evidence-based approaches relevant to your specific domain, and how they fit together as part of the larger whole.
    • Design and document practices in a manner that helps you adjust the fluid step-by-step logical process and demonstrate the development and adjustment of treatment/service plan in order to facilitate the recovery process. Practitioners must document the way that they practice and understand its purpose to evolve the plan from the beginning to the end, have it show up in a certain way that connects to the reason for the plan, its process and the adjustments for the plan to achieve the intended outcome.
    • Path an annual training and development program for evidence-based practices to deepen knowledge of methods and of the theoretical background for the use of the approaches. Membership in a professional group to foster professional engagement and ongoing development.

  • Transformation @ EB Pathways

Our job is to NOT take over people’s lives and do the work for them.

Effective empowerment comes from being "assistive" and collaboratively teaching and guiding. By applying proven approaches, clients embrace responsibility for what happens to them and thrive beyond us.

This is where the Evidence-Based "PATHWAYS" Workshops & Conference empowers practitioners to guide others.

Participants at the event will be in a position to learn proven skills and how to implement their powerful approaches.

    • Practitioner satisfaction goes up.
    • Caseloads are managed better.
    • Teams' capacity increases allowing you and your team to do, and be more.
    • Your organization is stronger with higher sustainable outcomes and profits.

The expectation of all those we work with is that EBP must be a part of our collaboration. It has also raised our standing with our Board of Supervisors and Law Enforcement partners."
